New Oticon Medical Streamer and ConnectLine App Allow Users of Ponto Plus Bone Anchored Sound Processor to Connect to iPhone, iPad and iPod touch

Oticon Medical announces the launch of the Oticon Medical Streamer and ConnectLine App that will enable Ponto Plus sound processor users to control their bone anchored hearing solutions with just a tap of their iPhone®, iPad® and iPod touch®. The small and discreet Oticon Medical Streamer serves as an intermediary device. When the Streamer is paired with the ConnectLine App, users can use their iPhone to switch between input sources, adjust volume individually and select programs. 

The ConnectLine App is available for free on the App Store for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.

With the introduction of the Ponto Streamer, Oticon Medical opened a world of wireless connectivity to cell phones and a range of audio sources – everyday connections that most people take for granted but that had been challenging for people with bone anchored hearing solutions. Now, the new Oticon Medical Streamer and ConnectLine App further expand that easy connectivity, giving people with implantable solutions a new level of convenience and discreteness.

Operation is simple and features are easily customized. The ConnectLine App allows users to access a variety of custom options including last number redial, reject call and voice dial as well as to set designated ringtones for cell phone and landline. Users can move seamlessly from listening to music to enjoying phone calls and video chats. They can also connect to the ConnectLine system to stream audio from TV, landline phones and personal microphones.

The ConnectLine App runs on iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 6, iPhone 5s, iPhone 5c, iPhone 5, iPhone 4s, iPhone 4, iPad Air, iPad mini with Retina display, iPad mini, iPad (3rd and 4th generation), iPad 2 and iPod touch (5th generation) and Android smartphones and tablets.

The new Oticon Medical Streamer has a new chipset that enables the Streamer to work with the ConnectLine App and Apple devices. That chipset wasn’t available with the first Streamer, the Ponto Streamer. For Android users, we’ll have an update for the Ponto Streamer, and we’ll share details on that soon.

Oticon Medical currently does not have a program in place for recent purchases– If your Streamer was purchased (note: *date of purchase*) within the last three months you can return it, and we’ll send you a new Streamer. If you purchased it more than 3 months ago, but less than 6 months ago, you can get a discount on the new Oticon Medical Streamer.
